Ing. Karel ŠÍMA, a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague and an erstwhile employee of Walter, founded W-Motor Service in 1994, aiming to preserve the Czech technological heritage. He holds an EASA aircraft maintenance license in categories B1 and C and is a Level 2 NDT inspector for MT (magnetic particle) and PT (liquid penetrant) methods. Besides being an accountable manager and test facility manager at WMS, he is in charge of strategic development of the company and personally participates in the maintenance of Walter Minor, LOM Praha M137/337/332 and Walter/GE M601 aircraft engines. Karel is the only full-time team member, and is in fact engaged in our work almost 24 hours daily!
Radek ŠÍMA followed his father's footsteps from the very beginning of his professional career. He holds an EASA B1 maintenance license and is a Level 2 NDT inspector for the MT and PT methods. His principal duties at WMS are non-destructive testing of engine parts and precision reaming of crankcases and bearing inserts of Czech piston engines. He acts as a certifying technician for both piston and turbine engines. He is also employed at ČSA Technics as certifying staff for Airbus and ATR airliners.
Ing. Vladimír VOKÁČ, a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague, is a quality manager at WMS and a maintenance manager at Aeropartner, a small charter airline. He holds an EASA maintenance license in categories B1/B2/C for more than 20 types of aeroplanes and helicopters, as well as an independent airworthiness review authorisation for aircraft in non-commercial operation. He owns and flies a Zlin Z 226 aircraft.
Anton KONASHENOK has a master's degree in physics and is a holder of EASA B1.2/B2 aircraft maintenance license and a Level 2 NDT inspector for the MT method. He is engaged at WMS as a deputy quality manager, documentation manager and certifying staff for Lycoming, Walter Minor and LOM aircraft engines, Cessna, Piper, Grumman and Zlin aircraft, avionics, and non-destructive testing. He owns and flies two Grumman aircraft, AA-5B Tiger and AA-5A Cheetah. He is also a qualified multilingual technical translator.
Ing. Radek JEŽ is the maintenance manager and certifying staff for Cessna and Piper aircraft. He holds an EASA B1 maintenance license and has many years of experience with major airframe repairs and aircraft painting.
Jan VEIGERT is more than just a maintenance technician: he has built an ultralight aircraft from scratch. He holds an EASA B1.2 license and has a plethora of experience with metal, tube-and-fabric, wooden and composite airframes. He also overhauls electrical ancillaries for piston engines and attends to engine testing on the ground test cell.
Jaroslav ANÝŽ is one of the most experienced aircraft and piston engine mechanics in Czechia. He has been working at the Kbely Aviation Museum for several decades and is intimately familiar with many historical aircraft. He holds an EASA B1.2/C license and is the go-to guy for the trickiest problems!
